Onboarding AI
As of the middle of 2025 only around 1 in 1,000 people by our reckoning have fully woken up to the true reality of the AI revolution.
The nature of this developing position is breathtaking; it is unprecedented in human history, and represents the end of normal life as we have known it.
If you think you know what is coming – think again, as no-one knows for sure, beyond certain generalities.
The important point is this – what is coming is going to rip through professional sectors with a force and at a rate that will be beyond belief.
If you are not acting fast to respond, you will be taken down.
This is not a tech revolution
One mistake that some seem to be making is they consider AI to be a tech development, an iteration of previous technological breakthroughs. A step or a leap forward in that story.
This is a new story; the rise of a new population. A super-intelligent population of assistants, agents and robots that will bust into the market-place and become the workforce and the experts.
Even today, right at the beginning of this story, this can be evidenced by a simple point. You are better off today exploring recruiting your next team member from the AI population. In most cases this will be a better option, based on multiple metrics, than recruiting a human alternative.
They will be available immediately, they will be able to work 24/7, require no pay and – crucially – have superior intelligence.
These current versions are “infants”. Yet, they are smarter than us.
From “infant” to “adult” the growth rate is predicting: 2 years, maybe 3 years. Once the adults are here, the level of intelligence within each entity will be greater than the entire human population combined.

Onboarding AI
As the realisation (the group wake up) spreads within the general population, there is likely to be widespread psychological displacement. Thanks to Malcolm Gladwell’s work on tipping points we can ascertain this will occur when something “gives”, meaning that an event or news story will be the catalyst, there will be a moment which is public when the dawning spreads out like a wave. It is possible this will occur in either 2025 or 2026. So, it is imminent.
At this point we will start to see this displacement change market behaviour and customers will be seeking reassurance from their trusted advisers, and businesses they interact with, that the business itself is on top of this.
Thus, professional practices will need to be ready with empathetic solutions and a new service.
We know what this will look like, as we have been creating models for firms to use to know how to adapt.
But that adaption should be starting now, proactively.
The new AI model
The new AI model is designed on a specific basis, which we call “partnering with AI”. For the foreseeable future we think the model will be that humans retain ownership and structural control, their AI partners come in and take on the workload. We expect, within professional services, for there to be a strong retention of human “adviser” to human “client” interaction. So, your AI partnerships (with various assistants and agents) will be based on working out what roles they can play to deliver the service of your dreams.
It’s somewhat similar to the idea of a plane flying (which let’s face it is already possible without a human around) combining a pilot (human) with an autopilot (AI).
That’s the business model that is arising very quickly. Your “plane” will be flying largely on autopilot, with you at the controls.
To onboard this new AI model will require learning – quickly – how AI will work in the future and putting in place steps to complete the transition.
You will need exceptional information from the AI coalface, in real time so you are on top of this, not behind it. Catch up won’t work. Speed is the factor here, a crucial one.
We can help with all of this. Depending on your business, this could take from a month to six months, and at least in part, will be developed by AI itself.
