Pensions and Inheritance Tax

What would my family actually get?

A few weeks after a funeral, the pension scheme often writes to say there’s money for the family. From April 2027, less of it may reach them. Owen’s mum left him her £100,000 pension. After inheritance tax, and then income tax on what’s left, he keeps £36,000. That’s just over a third. The video shows how each tax is worked out and why her age when she died made such a difference. It also looks at people taking money out of their pensions early to get ahead of the change, and why that can backfire.
