In October 2016 the FCA produced their Smarter Consumer Communications Initiative.
This is an ongoing piece of work, one of the main objectives being to make life easier for “consumers” to understand financial topics and to interact with financial firms.
In the hands of regulated firms the FCA is keen to promote the idea that firms should be addressing and using modern communication methods to reach out to their audience, making the whole process of a consumer interacting with a regulated firm better.
